Robert
Fripp Speaking Engagements
Robert
Fripp is unlike many legendary musicians. He is exceptionally
well-read on multiple subjects, an intellectual, and a modest
man. Robert is equally comfortable discussing the history
of religion with a country vicar or world economics with the
late Sir Edward Heath who was for many years a neighbor.
Robert
is as eloquent a speaker as he is a master performer. A founding (and ongoing) member of King Crimson, he has collaborated with the likes
of David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, and Brian Eno. In fact, Rolling
Stone magazine named Robert Fripp the 42nd best guitarist
of all time.
For
many years, after his solo performances, he has engaged and
delighted his audiences with his impromptu conversations and
highly entertaining Q & A sessions.
Discipline
& the Act of Music first became popular in his college lecture
tours in the early 1980's.
As much
as Robert is internationally known for his guitar brilliance,
since 1969 Fripp has talked and written more about music,
the guitar, and the professional life of the touring player,
than actually playing guitar!
